Job Description
Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC), located in Reno, Nevada, actively maintains a pool of qualified individuals to be selected from on an as needed basis by the department to fulfill part-time temporary instructional needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in a field related to Emergency Management and Homeland Security from an accredited institution, such as from one of the following areas of study: Business Administration, Business Continuity, Counterterrorism Studies, Crisis Governance, Disaster Management, Emergency Management Administration, Fire Science, Hazardous Materials, Health Physics, Homeland Security Policy, Law Enforcement, Organizational Leadership, Political Science, Public Safety Administration, Public Health Preparedness, or Strategic Studies.
Responsibilities
Candidates must exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.
The primary responsibility is to teach college-level and developmental courses. The position provides an opportunity for input into scheduling and course assignments.
Compensation: $15 to $50/hour depending on credentials and experience.
Conditions of Employment
This is an on-going pool of qualified individuals interested in part-time, temporary non-tenure track instructional opportunities at Truckee Meadows Community College.
These opportunities are part-time only and will not be continued beyond the ending date. These opportunities may be terminated at will, at any time, for any reason, without notice; appointee has no appeal rights. Temporary assignments are not eligible for consideration for tenure as part of the assignment.
